je vais et je viens
This picture was done in 1996, at university. In Lee Plotek's 3rd year painting course. Every Friday, like clockwork, at 8am we would have 3 hours to paint from the model. Her hair was punk rock red and the blanket, a sort of fake animal skin.
From 1995-99, living on Cool Street in Verdun, I had a very small bathroom (could more appropriately be called a water closet) with no operational shower. Naturally I became very attached to my tub. The painting on the left measures 12x16 inches, and is a sketch for the larger 24x48 inch version on the right. I had to put the larger one on two separate panels as I did not have a big enough surface handy. The second picture took quite a few sessions before I was satisfied with it.
